Yes it is very normal. I used to have a Windows 98 and it was way slower then what I am using right now.You might need a new computer since most CDs can only run on Windows 200 or higher.

By now you've installed programs with higher requirements. ALSO, you've probably installed a bunch of JUNK. Uninstall all red flags. AOell, Screensavers, cursers, etc. And run a good antispyware in safe mode. Go into msconfig/startup and google everything there, uncheck what it tells you too, hit apply, close and reboot. You probably want to defrag too.
