When I click on a folder or shortcut in the Start menu of Windows, I sometimes get this error:

and when I click on 'click here', this is what appears:

I don't know why this is happening. What's wrong?

I have already re-installed Windows but without formatting. I do not want to lose my programs.

There are a couple possiblites. You have a virus, or some file is corrupted.

This does happen occasionally especially if you are using software written for an earlier version of windows. You might want to run a virus/malware check just in case you have picked something up

Simply reinstall windows
