You really don't have a choice in the matter when running Vista, it will run what it decides you need. If you have a DirectX 9 card, it will run DirectX 9.0L, which is the Vista version of DirectX 9. If you have a DirectX 10 card, it will run DirectX 10. This is pretty much out of your control, Vista will run the appropriate version for your card. If you have a DirectX 9 card, it is running DirectX 9.0L, even though in some places it will say DirectX 10, so don't be confused by that.

You were supposed to have set up a backup before you installed 10. But you might not have to uninstall it completely. First try install 9 because most vista did not have it native. If worse comes to worse PC restore or system restore or OSRI
