I believe that people don't try to understand the reasons behind someone else's beliefs. They judge too quickly based on what they know and what they know is very limited (concerning people here I mean). I would never judge anyone on their beliefs. You believe in God, fine, you don't, just as fine. As long as someone has a good heart, than, believing in God or not, doesn't really matter.

I do not know why those who don't believe in God got thumbs down but I am not here to judge anyone including myself for that will be done later on.Yes, I believe in God and I believe God loves all people the same because God's love is unconditional and shows no favoritism . To me faith is a gift and not all people have the same gifts as others. But that does not mean that God does not exist or does not love us all. What is needed is to show your faith by treating others with respect and dignity and may be through a good example and a lively faith an influence that others will imitate and come around to the conclusion that God does exist in all of us but in different ways. All the sniping at each other whether you believe or do not believe does not serve God's justice. We are here to love one another and let God be the Judge . I am positive that God will make the right call concerning everyone whether a believer or not a believer. Instead of both sides being critical and childish in the way we put each other down, may be we ought to have a constructive dialog that could lead to something that our minds could not imagine but only an open heart and soul could let shine through us for the good of all .

That's like some questions I've seen where some asks "What religion are you?" and then everybody manages to get a thmubs down.

How the hell do you get a thumbs down for that? There's no "I'm right and you're wrong" it's simply "this is what I believe."

Just a guess but I'm betting there are a lot more Theists than Atheists out there, that would tend to skew the ratings. And I don't see that this question specifies Christian God over Islamic God or Buddhist God. Why do people assume it is Christians doing the negative ratings? Pre-biased perhaps?

Besides the fact that some (not all) god-believers are intolerant of others who don't believe as they do, they also think that atheists are immoral and unethical as a group.

This doesn't make sense. Isn't it more admirable to be a moral person because you believe that is what's right, than to be one out of fear of eternal damnation? Have any of you atheist-haters heard of humanism?

"Humanism is based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appeal to universal human qualities—particularly rationalism. It rejects the validity of transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on faith, the supernatural, or divinely revealed texts. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of the human condition."

I would never give a thumbs-down to anyone based on their religious preference.

That is one example, your link. When I have ever mentioned God in most answers, I get a thumbs-down. It's the Liberals who do it to me. Remember that they're the ones who hate the 10 commandments, and want them out of every public building? They appear to have a disliking for God, and Jesus, as well. Don't you dare quote the Bible man, if you don't want at least 6 thumbs-down!

Sorry, but it seemed like people who do believe were getting them, too.

I don't t/d for a simple statement of belief or disbelief, but I will if someone isn't answering the question, is c/ping great gobs of nonsense, or is trying to annoy me.

I'm not going to read all those answers, but I get the picture! It's sad. People don't deserve a thumbs down because of it. Everyone has different beliefs.

I believe in God...but i don't think i'm better than anyone who doesn't. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we die none of us know what's "on the other side", so let those who believe, "Believe", and let those who don't believe, "don't".

Because their opinions differ. I even got thumbs down on a coke & pepsi question ;) I guess having my own preference is a bad thing? lol
