The best book out there for new investors is "One up on Wall St" by Peter Lynch. He's the most successful mutual fund manager in history. The book is older now, but the concepts are what is important.

Norman Berryessa and John Templeton. Global Investing: the Templeton Way. McGraw-Hill, 1988.

Benjamin Graham. The Intelligent Investor. Revised. Harper Collins, 2005.

J. Christoph Amerger. Hot Trading Secrets. Wiley, 2005.

For beginners: The "Stock Market"- "Mutual Funds"-
"Investing"- "For Dummies" series most if not all 3 by Eric Tyson.

You can start off with the best seller by Robert Kiyosaki called "RICH DAD POOR DAD" great book for anyone is looking for financial independance in investments. A must read!!
