Insulting me or my intelligence isn't going to work. Being civil and behaving like an adult usually does. We all have walls in place due to various traumas that were real or imagined. I like to think of these as rooms instead of walls. Some rooms can be opened and some stay locked.

Yes and no... Yes, walls do go up especially when you have been hurt or burned. For me, when I don't think that I have walls but everyone has them. It's you who controls the walls and how much you will be willing to lower them. When it comes to love, it takes a better person, a patient one to try to break down the walls you have put up. Honesty always works between partners and making the other one know why and how you have these walls up... I don't normally put up walls when it comes to friends, but with love I have walls.

Very much so. I think most people have walls some more penetrable than others, but mine are quite sturdy and once the wall is there, it is nearly impossible to break it down.

i do... i think majority of people who do had some sort of abuse while growing up.. like myself.
i've been in a steady relationship for 6 years and am still trying to break some of them down.. so yes it is very hard to break them down once there up.
