cscx=1/sinx; cotx=cosx/sinx, then

1/sinx +cosx/sinx =(1+cosx)/ sinx, this is what I get....check your question.

My teacher told me we can proove the equation by starting at left side or right side of the equation.

I choose with the right side because my teacher said it's much more easier to deal with fraction.

sin X / (1 + cos X)
= sin X (1 - cos X) / (1 + cos X) (1 - cos X) (eliminate the fraction)
= sin X (1 - cos X) / (1 - cos^2 X)
= sin X (1 - cos X) / sin^2 X (sin^2 X + cos^2 X = 1)
= (1 - cos X) / sin X
= 1/sin X - (cos X/sin X)
= csc X - cot X

I'm sure the sign is negative and not positive.

Hope this can help you.

Good luck and all the best.

Wrong question dear. There are two ways amend this question....i.e.

i. csc X + cot X = (1+cos X) / sin X.

or

ii. csc X - cot X = sin X / (1+cos X).

Now.. tell me what are u trying to solve I can help u in your maths problems.....any time..I'll be available 4 heling u.

LHS
= 1 / sin x + cos x / sin x
= (1 + cos x) / sin x
which does not agree with RHS

cot(x) + csc(x) = sin(x) / (a million-cos(x)) He basically broke down the left fringe of the equation: cos(x)/sin(x) + a million/sin(x) [cos(x) + a million ]/sin(x) To teach they're equivalent, [a million + cos(x) ]/sin(x) = sin(x) / (a million-cos(x)) circulate multiply a million - cos^2(x) = sin^2(x) a million = cos^2(x) + sin^2(x) <-- id
