I think it's like what I've read in books about whether or not to talk about doing spells..and that is...

You can tell people, and if they believe in it that belief adds to the energy of the wish.

BUT

If they have doubts, any whatsoever, it will take away from, and probably destroy, any chances of the wish coming true.
Most people would say not to chance it.

Personally, I have 2 people I tell and even then it's only after I've done something and they are people I know very well.

Well, first you need to understand the difference between a "wish" and a "hope."

The word "wish" is used for things that you know there is little chance of it actually happening. (e.g. "I wish I could become invisible." "I hope I can pass this exam.")

Exception to this is "I wish you a Merry Christmas"

Telling someone your "wish" is generally considered a bad luck but it certainly will not prevent your wish from becoming true. It's just tradition... "I wish you a Merry Christmas." Now, my wish won't come true? So you will have a horrible Christmas season? Mmm...

Don't worry about it, but your aunt probably has a good reason for telling you that; (maybe she's already gotten you a birthday present and she doesn't want you to tell her what you want because she doesn't want to go take it back to the store and get you what you "wished" for.)

It's not true, dear. It's like throwing salt over one's shoulder to ward off 'evil spirits' when you spill salt. It is all just a matter of being a little too superstitious for our own good. Go ahead and tell your wishes to whomever you trust to keep them. You won't lose them as you are in charge of making your dreams a reality.

It is a mind game. Reality as we know it is only consensus of thought. It is something that more than one person believes and thus it is real. If everyone stopped speaking English tomorrow you'd be insane for trying to convince them that such a thing exists. Thus, reality is simply a thought or idea that people agree upon. People are social individuals. What someone believes about us we're most likely to believe about ourselves due to the nature of human interaction and hypnosis, which is a different topic altogether. For the purposes of this writing, we're at a consensus in believing that what another person believes about is is what we're to be more likely to believe about ourselves at a subconscious level. Thus, When you tell someone what you wish to be but what now is not, you're affirming a reality to your subconscious mind due to the proof of the other person that what you wish to be Now is not in existence, and thus since now is eternal and past and future are only thoughts you will have a belief reaffirmed that what you wish to be is not here and thus it will be most likely for it to continue not to be here. Place what you wish to be to the other person in the light that it is now here already and then instead of inhibiting the wish you'll be promoting it and giving it power, unless of course the other person refuses to believe the notion and tries to force you to believe that it is not. Since you'll most likely be at a less than positive state about what it is a person is going to say or react to you with, it's best to keep wishes to yourself unless you know that the person will play pretend with you in order to promote your wishes and intentions. You'll get more wishes fulfilled as you do this rather than what most people usually do.

I believe that you have the power to make your wish come true. You have to believe in yourself and picture yourself that you already have that wish and you will eventually get it because unconsciously you are trying to attain that wish. If you doubt yourself, that's when the wish doesn't come true.

When you make a wish and will it and fill it with desire.
It will come true no matter who you tell.

Have you ever heard someone saying,"If I want it bad enough it will happen?" The same is true of wishing.

I wouldn't be very concerned. In reality you need to tell others what you wish of them otherwise how will they know what you want?
Bad luck, good luck, and being really lucky is all relative.
