Based on my worldy travels I would have to recommend my top three

1) Paris, France
ROMANTIC!
Great food, great shopping, the Louvre (Mona Lisa resides there- but watch out for long lines), Les Champs Elysses- this includes the boulevard with multiple cafes and the Eiffel Tour and the Arc de Triomphe (i definitely spelled that wrong)
It's just a different way of life, and it is so romantic.

2) Cape Town, South Africa:
BEAUTIFUL!
Amazing views of where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans collide, world-class resorts, and amazing wineries. I recommend that you travel around South Africa if you decide to take this magnificent trip. Try a safari, and buy diamonds for deeply discounted rates. You'll love this trip because it boasts amazing landscapes and scenary, and the truly unique culture.

3) Corodoba, Spain & Northern Morocco:
EXOTIC!

Corodoba, Spain is one of the oldest Muslim areas, but you would never know it. It boasts a rich history, (particulary when it drove out Muslims.) Stay there or in southern Spain for a week and head to the Straits of Jabraltar for a trully magnificant getaway from the norm. You can cruise to northern Morocco and go to the desert for a week to lie among the stars, ride camels, and eat the unique food. Go back to the northern Moroccoan cities and immerse yourself this belly-dancing culture. You'll have a blast!

JJ,

It's been quite awhile since I traveled very far from home, but I would go back to Italy anytime and any city. Florence, Rome and Naples are very nice. Naples is near Mt. Vesuvius and Pompei. Rome is where the Vatican and Coliseum are and Florence is rich in cultural history and has the Palazzo Vecchio.

If I had to pick one city, it would be Rome. You can stay busy for two weeks seeing the points of interest and still not see them all.
1. Coliseum
2. Vatican
3. Catacombs
4. St. Peters Basilica (part of the Vatican)
5. Michaelangelos art (part of the Vatican)
6. Fountain de Trevi (made famous in an old movie)
7. Many old churches
8. And much, much more

Each of those could take a full day and then there are the local sight and sounds. You might want to catch a Papal address (also at the Vatican). If all that's not enough, Naples (Napoli) is a short train ride away with Mt. Vesuvius and Pompei and some amazing night life. Of course these are just the highlights. A little research would produce many more places of interest. Also from Naples there are day trips to the islands of Ischa and Capri (also made famous by a movie).

I doubt that you could get all that done in two weeks, but it would be fun trying.

I was born in the UK, and grew up in Canada, and have been to all of it but the NWT. You are asking a BIG question! Basically, any spot you pick will have things of interest. The best scenic areas (this will all be my opinion!) tend to be in and around British Columbia. Mountains, forests, wilderness, and all that. I grew up in southern BC, in a dessert, much like what you would find in Arizona. Yet, a few hours drive away (near Vancouver) it rain forest. On Vancouver Island are places like Cathedral Grove, a stand of Old Growth forest, with trees 800 years old, and 250' tall. It's an amazing place. I live in Yukon now, and the endless vistas of wilderness are really something. However, for culture, and history, the place is too young. For example, where I live was nothing in 1896 when gold was found. There are some period buildings still around, but, compared to the UK, they wouldn't be considered old at all! One of the most popular areas for visitors would be the Banff, and Jasper National Parks. These are on the Alberta side of the BC/Alberta border. So, flying to Calgary, and renting a car from there would work. The road between Banff and Jasper is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Mountains, glaciers, wildlife.... It has it all. Of course, it is also quite busy. But, if you like mountains, and wilderness, they, and anywhere in BC would do fine. Toronto seems to be popular with tourists. Personally, I'm not much on the place. As 1/2 the people there were born outside the country, I'm not sure how "Canadian" it is - other than that Canada is a very multi-cultural society. But, there is a fair bit to see in the area, and 2 weeks would do it. So, Niagara Falls, and Ottawa - even Montreal could easily be managed in 2 weeks. There are lots of smaller places all around there that are good too. Ottawa being the capital has all sorts of national museums, so, culture abounds in the place, and ways of really learning what Canada is all about. There are no real mountains around there, but, lots of forest, and fairly wild areas, especially if you drive on Highway 7, or even 17. The Maritime provinces are delightful or visitors, but, enough like the UK that you would not find the "different" things to make your trip interesting. I am assuming you are seeking things you can't find at home! So, those would be the areas I would suggest, based on my experience. Southern/Eastern Ontario, and possibly to Montreal, or, southern British Columbia. Maybe driving from Vancouver to Calgary, Edmonton, and back. I've done that trip, and enjoyed it. But, as I said, almost anywhere would do - Canada is a great place to be a tourist!

Well Orlando, Florida is so much fun with Disney World and Universal Theme Parks but that could get expensive. I went to Piegion Forge, Tennessee (over in the Great Smoky Mountains) a few years ago and there is alot of different things to do there too. I don't really travel much but Memphis and Nashville are also very interesting... I'm from Tennessee and that's about all I've ever been to besides Orlando! But I would definately say that those four places are so much fun. Well good luck. I hope you find a great place for a vacation!

I would probably have to say Auckland NZ. The clubs are pretty good and open 24 hours and if you get bored in the city there are loads of other places to visit...definitely more than enough to see and do in 2 weeks

I have been to over 26 countries. My picks-

Rome - Just a great city, can travel on foot for many areas. Tons of things to see and do. And, Italians are great people.

Budapest - Another great city. Tons to do. A walking city. Great people, worlds finest public baths, great food, great history and museums, inexpensive compared to most.

Paris - Great city....perhaps the prettiest.

There are so many choices--if price is no object, I would recommend Paris. You could stay there a week and take the train to other locations, such as Amsterdam, London, or the south of France
