Pride in one's background is not racist.
Racism is the belief that race predetermines a person's level of intelligence, what a person will say, think, do, etc... It is racial bias. It is to form opinions based upon race, to form stereotypes whether negative OR "positive". And it is the irrational hatred of people due to race.
However, if your pride leads you to have a racist attitude then you are exactly that- a racist who is no less racist than any other racist. Many people fall into that trap... They allow their racial pride to spin out of control, so to speak, until their pride leads to racism. And many of them can't (or won't) see it... Instead, they continue to disguise their racism (or rather TRY to disguise it) with pride.
Be careful with your pride. Making statements such as, "If it wasn't for white people there wouldn't have been ancient Greece the Roman Empire the renaissance in Europe or great nations like Britian Germany France Italy or the United States & Australia," indicates to me that you associate being European with greatness. I don't know exactly where your mind is, so I want to be careful to not accuse you of having a racially biased attitude. Let me just tell you this: There is greatness among all people, and it isn't determined by race. To think otherwise is to be racist. Likewise, no one can possibly know what the future would have held had history been different. The absense of Europeans would not have left the world devoid of greatness since, as I said, race doesn't predetermine greatness or lack thereof. To think otherwise is also to be racist. I hope you understand this.
Likewise, remember that, while the accomplishments of others are wonderful and to be admired and appreciated, they are not YOUR accomplishments. They are not a reflection of the person YOU are. To think otherwise is to employ the same false logic as those who believe that the negative behavior of some people is a reflection of all people of the same race. I hope you understand what I'm saying. Thank you for your question.

I think white Americans tend to be less racist on average than white Hispanics. In South America and Mexico whites tend to have more money and have political power. It's the way it is. Also, notice at the Hispanic soap operas all the main characters especially the lead actress are white not brown. They have the brown people as servants usually. Argentinians are very much guilty of this because they are the ones with most European blood (German, Swedish, Austria, Switzerland, Spain) and they flaunt it. In Peru where I was born there is a notable distinction between whites and browns.I heard in the news once from that country that a brown Peruvian man had tried to go into a club in an upscale neighborhood where most were white Peruvians. The bouncer beat him up despite the fact that he didn't do anything illegal or inappropriate. Just imagine how the black Hispanics feel. They get discriminated by both white and brown Hispanics.

Hmm funny my friends are Greek and Italian and always talk about how well ill behaved "Mangia Cakes " are! You are a perfect example . You are proud of others accomplishments as you live off of them but you can not say you did any for yourself.
Intelligence and education would let you know a bit more about the ROMAN EMPIRE AND GREECE AND HOW THE mOORS AND EGYPTIANS PLAYED A BIG PART OF IT .
And since your so hateful you would know that the hate group that you belong to in Germany their view is that Southern Europeans are deviants because they are not pure Aryan but have been mixed. Don't tell me your forefathers grew up in a trailer ,drinking alchol and smoking pot ...About the majority of your family member have at least one tooth missing lol

It depends on what you mean by pride. I'm proud of good things I've done in my life, and I'm proud of myself in the sense that I take pride in doing what I do well. In the same way, you can be proud of the great things Europeans have done and take pride in being of such descent and in striving to be an example of how a person of your nationality or ethnic group can be great and achieve great things. That's not racist; in fact, it can be a very positive thing.
One thing I feel quite strongly, however, is that pride and patriotism should be active things: to justify being proud or patriotic, you have to actually play a role in achieving something good, or keeping it good. Passive pride – just lying back and being happy you belong to whatever people – is useless and an insult to those who worked to give you something to be proud of. You have no right to be proud of something you played no part in achieving or maintaining.
If you mean proud in the sense of considering white Europeans to be inherently better than other groups, well then we're talking racism, and that doesn't achieve anything good.

Merriam Webster defines Racism as...
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race 2 : racial prejudice or discrimination.
It does not mention White European descent. Besides no man, woman or child has ever sought permission to feel pride.

I don't think its wrong to be proud of where you come from or who you are, in fact you should me more opprobrious in doing so. I just think that some people do it in a more insensitive way, which is somewhat offensive. There are a lot minority websites that caters to that particular race and just giving history, but looking at white websites its more along the lines of keeping white-white and its almost like trying to be the surperior race.

I think we should be more proud of our own personal accomplishments. If I want to be proud of who I am because of what other blacks have accomplished, then I can't complain if people lump me in with blacks who have done not such good things. We can't have it both ways. That's why I prefer to be judged by my own merits. So I guess my answer would be yes, be proud. But only if you're also willing to take responsibility for the negative things White Europeans have done as well.

Be very proud. There are always going to be people to criticize you no matter what you do. Take criticism with a grain of salt and be happy.
There is a fine line between being proud and being arrogant. But you have the freedom to be either.

I totally agree with Jon. White people are the best: they had slaves, and killed a bunch of Indians. They also brought a bunch of diseases when they came to America(the continent). Germany a great country?Did u forget about Hitler, the Nazis, and all the Jews they killed. -Germany is a great country nowadays, I don't have anything against the Germans, I'm just trying to get my point across. The U.S my country is also great I mean we dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and we invaded Iraq to get some oil. What about my best friends: the KKK? They are very good people and I'm proud of them they killed a bunch of Negroes.
By the way I'm white and I was being sarcastic.

No -- it is not at all in any way 'racist'
to be proud of or to have pride in one's
White / European lineage and heritage.
In fact, here are some links to just a few of the
many NON-RACIST websites which exist to
openly celebrate White lineage and heritage.
Enjoy. :D
