Yes, I have always respected my elders, i was taught that way even as a young child. No, I dont think that they are respected as much today by the younger generation. I dont think they are taught enough. Very sad. I have seen some elderly people disrespected by the younger generation. AND i will always stick up for their behalf. Theres no excuse.

I RESPECT my elders NOW.
I was taught "do unto others as I would have others do unto me."
I WANT to be respected,so I respect others, as well as my elders.
Young people do not respect elders because they
are not taught. I don't blame kids of today
for being disrespectful, rebellious, cold and unfeeling. I BLAMES PARENTS. Children are
born with a "blank slate" and as they grow they are sponges soaking up their environment, if their environment is the T.V. where they learn to swear, see cops and crooks, hear about crooked politicians, they see violent cartoons and everything else that creates deformity in the mind; cyberspace offers every type of disrespectful information known to man as well as offering all the many hostile, aggressive, how to cook bombs, how to torture, how to lame, how to maim, how to shoot to kill type games on the Internet, then they learn that hostility and disrespect is how to win and how to get attention; they learn to care only about scoring higher than the machine or higher than their friends, or in other words how to accumulate something bigger and better for self... how to beat others for what they want, so they learn how to think, feel and act...me,me,me,me, JUST ME.
If an elderly person get on the bus, people don't give up their seats as readily, as when I was younger. They claim, "old folks ain't got no business on the bus during rush hour, my "feets" is tired after working all day!" IT'S Not only poor grammar but poor manners too.
thanks for asking; it's a very good question!

Always have & always will & not just elders. Kids today will do IF they are taught well. But apparently the media portrays the idea of being a better person is to look better instead of behaving

No. But, I didn't disrespect them either.
I wasn't a brainwashed robot as a kid. And, I was well behaved. Kids have to have a mind of their own to a point or they could fall victim to someone.
Adults should be respected as much as anyone should.
