the EPL transfer window is now open & will be closed at midnight on 31 August 2007. it will be reopen again in January 2008.

There are 2 transfer windows in EPL (and in other Europe countries league) every season. First one is before the competition get started, it lasts for 2 months. Second one is in the beginning of January, it lasts for 1 month.

From after the FA cup, going through to September 1st 00:00, with i think a month longer for loans, and then it re opens for a month at january.
