Honestly when i started putting it in a bottle, (there is nothing wrong this its a person choice) my husband and I put just one tablespoon in it. It helps fill the little one up just a little more then norm. and it helps to put just a little less in if its for acid reflux the only down side is that you might have trouble getting your little one to eat rice cereal out of bowl its just a matter of finding the right mix for the bowl feeding. Wishing you the best.

I personally am opposed to putting anything but BM or formula in a bottle.

Pediatricians and the AAP do not recommend it for vaious reasons, but do say it's OK in the event of reflux. If your child has reflux and the Ped. has recommended rice in the bottle, check with him/her on the amount.

Having rice in the bottle only serves to make baby consume too many calories at a time and therefore overeating. It does not necessarily keep baby full longer, nor does it help baby sleep through the night.

You should wait until baby is old enough to consume solids (4-6 months old, depending on who you ask) and introduce slowly. Start by making it very runny and feeding it on a spoon, gradually mixing in more rice to the thickness baby likes.

You should NEVER put rice cereal in formula. How old is baby? Is baby old enough to start eating cereal?? If you're doing it in hopes baby will sleep better, it's a myth. Plus doing this can increase the risk of choking since you need to have bigger holes in the nipples for it to come out!

You should never put rice cereal in a bottle.

If your infant is 6 months or older, you can mix it to the desired consistency in a bowl, and then feed the infant with a spoon.

none. the baby gets everything she needs from the formula. adding cereal only adds more calories. if the baby is over four months she is ready to try cereal on a spoon, any other way of feeding it to her is just lazy

I would use the scoop they put in the formula. I think it is about 1 1/2 tbls though, but since it dissolves better than oatmeal i just pour enough to cover the top of the milk before it is mixed. If you use the avent nipples then the holes should be big enough, if the baby has moved up. I think the recommended age is 3 months, but check.

It depends on the consistency you want. Personally, I started out with 1oz and just enough rice to make it kind of like a runny pudding to let my lil' one get used to it. I don't know if your talking bottle or spoon feeding though. Mine were/are breastfed so I always do/did spoon.
