Because Yahoo uses the American English Dictionary and the program they use to blank words obviously isn;t clever enough to distinguish between which sites it is on. Be happy though because the upside you can use words like, bollocks, bugger, shite and wanker.

*** has been used a term for a cigarette long before it referred to gays. Lots of people in Ireland use it, including me. Once upon a time you could say 'I'm feeling gay so I'm going to have a ***' and not offend anybody! Do you think because an accepted term is adopted by people for something else, the original meaning is lost? Not for me. I grew saying *** and I'll continue to do so. My gay friends know this and take no offence. Lots of them use the term as well!

Because a * a g is slang for a male homosexual over here in the US. Since 9/11 the call to be PC(politicaly correct) here in the US has be heightened. Corporations in America now have policies for even saying a slang/foul word in a public workplace. I understand people have rights (even if I don't agree with them), but PC seems very petty.

the ever changing world in which we live ....

I've used it all my life as my nan smokes. It can't see why it should be offensive and mean gay when it was originally military slang for ciggarette.
