It's not that we ask them to speak "french" while they apply it, right??

A normal polish involves applying a base coat, 2 coats of polish, then a top coat.

A french manicure involves them applying the french coat to the ends of nails, another coat of it, then perfectly shaping it, then a base coat on the lower half of the nails, then after it all dries a little, a top coat over all of it. It is more time consuming and requires more work from the manicurist.

Unfortunately, the french manicure doesn't last longer much longer than a week, but the regular one can last for up to two weeks.

Hope this helps : )

I love the name Mercedes Benz There! I think a nice expensive sounding show name is Elegantly A Star or Instead of Diamonds. Good luck with the name search!

Probably just because it has the word "French" in it. :-) Seriously, though, it's because it's because it's more work for the manicurist.

Now, if I were to sign off in French, I'd have to charge you. ;-)
