Answer sometimes to give information,
and sometimes to gain 2 points to complete the days quota.
Or answer when you are in bad mood and feel like getting
it over with someone, then the yashoo Q&A comes into play
There are lot of intilligent and foolish people on yahoo Q&A
There are some perverts too, who doesn't think twice before asking or even answering the questions. Because of the frequency Yahoo may not be able to check each and every one manually.

i always read other q&a before answering, just to see a sampling of what i've missed.
two or three weeks ago, i wondered how many i can answer (a decent answer) and still have a life. now i just try to log-in every day and try to find a question i can probably help, and some categories where i can also have fun.
plus i sometimes wonder how many thumbs down i'll get for an 'off-camber' remark/answer. sometimes.
about asking questions, i still make some search (e.g.,google) like i used to do before discovering yahoo answers. now i find some of my questions have already been answered, and so that leads me to another task: voting on undecided questions. not much points but i still get to learn a few things.

I like asking questions but I only wanted to do 100 till I reach level 6 then Ill do 200 more ^_^
but overall answering is more fun

I agree. I also like to review my answers to see if it was good enough to atleast get one thumbs up. It bothers me when there are no votes at all. Why ask a question if you aren't going to vote on the answers?

I like to do both, but I really like to answer because I hope that somehow I can help someone or at least bring a smile to their face.

I like to answer the questions to help people when they are stuck on something, like in math or science.
