I'm about to have a hamburger. The beef is very lean!
Is it still bad for me?

Red meat is bad for you if you eat more than you should. It's a fatty food with lots of calories but in small amounts it can give you a dose of protein. It's not as lean as chicken and turkey that's why it is considered "bad" sometimes. Don't eat too much of it and remove excess fat.

I'm not sure,.....but, see if this helps.

When the famous actor John Wayne died of Lung Cancer, they found about 12 lbs. of poorly-partially digested meat stuck to the walls of his intestines. He was 76 y/o.

Another actor also had like 8 lbs. Forgot that actor's name. Makes one wonder since afterall, our teeth are designed for chewing grains and vegetables like that of a cow or horse. We don't have teeth that resemble any true Carnivore, and our digestive systems are not like "meat eaters".

Meat eaters have short Intestines, where as grain/vegetable eaters have long intestines.

The whole idea in this, is Carnivores have short digestive tracts because meat can get rancid and full of bacteria quickly, and it's important the body gets rid of it quick. Humans have long intestines, and since we eat meat and it stays in our tracts for up to 3-4 days, this can suggest the cause of many of our illnesses and Cancers.

Hope this helps.

Ok, the thing about John Wayne is NOT TRUE. He died of cancer and did not have an autopsy.

Saturated fats are NOT bad for you. 74% of of the fats found in arterial plaque are UNsaturated fats, while only 26% are saturated.

Felton CV , Crook D , Davies MJ , Oliver MF; Dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids and composition of human aortic plaques; Lancet. 1994 Oct 29;344(8931):1195-6.

The cholesterol in your food does NOT translate into blood cholesterol (despite drug company commercials telling you so).

Did you also know, that the higher your cholesterol over the age of about 60, the more likely it is you will live longer?

Don't believe the hype.

the leaner the better
saturated fats that come from animals are not good for you
but the way things are going-if we didnt eat anything we were told is bad for us-we would starve to death
enjoy your burger, and drink plenty water, everything in moderation

ex chef-whos never tasted a burger!
