Sometimes I think its best if they didnt have any store greeters. I think its not necessary for stores to have greeters. It only makes a bad impression for the store when the greeters dont greet everyone who comes in. Some are very rude, ive walked into a store once and they never greeted me. And sometimes when im walking into a store with a friend, they greet us but they stare only at my friend and not even look at me. I really think they are annoying because when i come in the store in a bad mood, i have to give them a fake smile just to be nice.

by the way, ive never been to walmart, there isnt even a walmart where i live. im talking about the greeters at the malls, who are mostly teenagers or at their early 20s.

ya need to stop shopping at walmart. Seems to me, or at least here where I live, the only store that has greeters is Walmart and that's because they're committed to hiring seniors. I can tell you though that at the Walmart here our greeters are superb, have assisted me on many occasions with good answers and solved my situations.

I actually quite like the greeters around here most are seniors and it is pretty much the only job they are able to do anymore They are happy to be there and helpful

This could be just me, But I dont really give a crap if they greet me or not I just want to buy what I want and then pay then leave the store. If I need help I'll ask them. It gets annoying when several staff ask are you ok may I help you.
So in some circumstances yes they can be annoying...

Meijer stores have them too. They are so annoying that I'm ready to start shopping somewhere else.

I like to look before I buy, and if someone follows me around the store, constantly asking if they can help, and what item I'm looking for, it drives me mad. When this happens, I leave and go to another store
