With so many questions about Nick, I thought I'd ask this question to see what everyone would do. For myself, I wouldn't bring back Nick as Nick, but I'd have him come back as Victor, Jr. and have Phyllis get freaked out whenever she saw him. (Can you tell I don't like her??) So how would you bring Nick back?

FIRST PART OF MY SYNOPSIS...
Someone finds him in the water. After reviving him they take him back to their village to to nurse him back to health. It's actually an Native American reservation in Arizona. He's nursed back to health with natural medicines. The natives haven't a clue as to who he is because they don't watch tv. He wakes up calling for Sharon. First very fant cries and the natives can't understand what he's saying. But then one of the ones who found him can speak English because he goes into town a lot. He starts talking to him and asking where he's from and what happened. The farthest Nick can remember is hugging Sharon and saying that he was glad she was there. The man asks, "is Sharon your wife?" Nick replies, "yes"
"Where are you from?"
"Genoa City, WI"
But the man hasn't a clue as to where it is and Nick is still to weak to map it out. The man leaves the reservation to go into town to get help and information. At a local diner someone shows the man a newspaper article about Nick and his billionaire father. All of a sudden the man gets an idea. Ransom? "The money can really help my village", he thinks. After devising a plan the man tells Nick that he has found Sharon and will bring her to him. Nick is very happy and unaware of what is really going on. Meanwhile back in Genoa City Sharon gets a call, "I have your husband. In order for you to ever see him alive again I want one million dollars to start off with." Sharon is very confused because Jack is standing right there, "My husband!" she exclaims. The man explains and tells here to listen carefully and do as he says if she wants to see Nick again. That means not telling anyone not even Jack what's going on and bring the money in small bills...STAY TUNED!

As a dream sequence for Phyllis - basically, Nick was never dead and Phyllis had a nightmare that he was and had to endure the criticism from the other Newman women.
{EDIT} I do remember the Dallas dream sequence but we're dealing with a soap opera where the executive producer was also the head writer of Knots Landing. Because Josh Morrow's contract was in limbo, Nick was killed off in an airplane crash. Heck, Nick could simply reappear in GC as himself with no questions being asked.

Hip Hip Hooray a good question about Y & R and NOT the same one over and over again, I applaud your question!
If I was the writer I would have him found after being picked up in the water by maybe a foreign fishing boat. Which is why he wasn't able to notify them he was alive right away, the crew all spoke Russian or Japanese or something... I would have him desperate to communicate with them he needed to use the radio to let everyone know he was alive...
I don't think him just coming back from the business trip like nothing happened would work, for one they already used it with Sharon that she didn't get on the plane. But Nick has been gone for longer now and the plane crashing is all over the news, he would have known to get in touch with them.
Great question!

I think NIck should be washed up on shore and not remember phyllis at all. I think it would be great if he was found by Victor (who is looking for Victor Jr.) and he keeps him hidden until he gets his memory back or Victor pursuades him to believe his memory is whatever Victor tells him it is. With no phyllis in it of course. Then just as Nikki is on election night -- her son walks in with Victor in tote.

I don't like Phyllis either. Never Have. But I do enjoy seeing her suffer and ask "WHY MEEEEE???" like Karma ain't a *****.
But I'd have him come back from his business trip like nothing ever happened. He went to Madison, did his Clear Springs thing, and came home business as usual, only to find out that Neil has already taken over his seat. They only said his plane went off the radar, not that it was confirmed as a crash.
I do like velma's sheila idea, though.

I would bring it all back to Shelia. I would say that the real Phyllis was killed and not Shelia when Phyllis was kidnapped by her lookalike. Nick had his suspicions and Shelia, who would be posing as Phyllis, orchestrated the whole plane accident to get rid of Nick. But somehow he survived.

Well they never found Nick's body, so he can come back in almost any way!!
As long as he comes back! lol Josh Morrow is hot!!
He just signed a new 5 year contract for Y&R, so they will think of something good to do to bring him back!

I would have him come back and have a memory loss. The only person he remembers is Sharon since that was the last person he seen alive. And he thinks they are happily married. And all of Geona City go along with it to help Nick feel better. And about the time he gets his memory back and feels like himself again, he is not going to want to leave Sharon and Noah.

Somebody else just asked the question about him surviving underwater in a pressurized plane. Maybe??? They would have to find it soon if that were to happen. Victor is going to look for him and find him with sonar or something??? Hard to say.

I would get either Phyllis or Sharon to run into him someplace random. They would act surprised then start to talking. They both realize that they like Nick better than who they are with currently, then they get into a cat fight.
Cheesy idea i thnk- but it might be good??
