Most of these people have never watched 2 games Troy Smith played. I watched his entire college career (I AM A BUCKEYE). He reads defenses real well--very mobile...he isn't fat (Dumb people shouldn't breed). He benefited alot from his receievers. I think he will adjust to the NFL--within 2-3 years though. He needs time or he will fail. He IS NOT TOO SMALL--he's as big as Drew Brees-so that tells me something. The guy has poise and accuracy. Troy will be one of two things--A Superstar or a bust---no in between. So forget the career NFL Backup theories. That's not how this guy is made. He rises up to the occasion and has battled alot of crap to get where he is--in High School as well. Kid has heart. Base nothing on the Florida game.

It is too early to tell. Wait til he gets a chance to play some games. His size doesn't mean he can't be a starter, it just means that he has to be in the right system with the right offensive line. Good offensive lines open up holes in the defense for the qb to see through if he is not tall enough to see completely over the pocket. The eagles offensive line did this for garcia and the saints offensive line did this for brees. I saw troy smith play in college and he has some good qualities and some bad qualities. If he is coached well and gien the right chances he will succeed. A large part of success in the NFL is good coaching and the right oppurtunities.

Troy Smith was an excellent College QB and I believe that when he gets his chance to play in the NFL he will make the most of it and show everyone how wrong they were about disregarding him.
He possesses more pocket awareness and savvy than any quarterback in this years draft and he threw 10 interceptions in comparison to his 47 TD passes.
He made his wide-outs be recognized, getting the ball to 3 first round wide receivers in the last two years.
Last but not least, he won the Heisman Trophy. The things he did in college with his athleticism and poise cannot be taught and will be beneficial for him in the pros.

In Madden I would give him about a 70 overally. He is a good physical QB but he is quite small. Now I'm not saying that just because he is small he is not as good. However in order to play football in the NFL you have to see over the Offensive Linemans heads to have vision of your receivers. Unfortunately he doesn't have that at 5'10 . Also the only reason why he was very successful at Ohio State was he had receivers like Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez two first rounders.

A good backup in the NFL. Could start a few games though. He has a strong arm which helps a lot, but his height really hurts him. He will have trouble seeing over the O-line and may miss seeing his WRs open in that small window of time. Drew Brees though proved a 6 foot QB can play great, although it took a good while.

Honestly, in 2 years i think he will be one of the top 10 qb's in the league. The kid winning the heisman wasnt a mistake, were there better yes but hes still good. One bad game and hes thrown to the 6th round, so be it but i think he will be able to bounce back.

Also take into consideration he'll be training under mcnair who is only an inch taller than him. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, It's the amount of fight in dog."

The next Warren Moon,

come on he won the heisman, he is good.
And also just 1 year on the bench then he is the starter.

will be a journeyman who probably never gets a real shot at a starting job...his size, accuracy, and arm strength are major question marks, and his athletic ability is the only thing that will keep him around the league...wouldn't be a total shock to see him tried out at a different position
