I am very much a Catholic but at the same time a very lapsed one. Anyone similar would be welcome to e-mail me.

In other words, a victim to the sin of sloth, spiritually speaking.
I was such a person, only I called such a thing "Coma Catholicism".
I never stopped attending Mass regularly. Of course, while I might have been there in body, my mind and souls were a million miles away. This went on for 15 years. In that time, I had forgotten virtually everything I had been taught about the Church.
I had to re-educate myself, and I fittingly started with a children's Bible!
One thing I had learned that, while I might have still been a Catholic that entire time, I certainly was not what I would have called a "very much Catholic".
I wasn't the poster child for sin or anything. It's just that, outside of mass, I rarely thought about God, my Faith, anything remotely theological.
If you have come to recognize yourself as being a "lapsed" Catholic, there's only one thing for you to do. Come back to the Church.

How can you be "very much a Catholic" and lapsed at the same time? That doesn't make sense.

I was going to ask what exactly is a lapsed Catholic...but i'm not THAT lazy...nor do i want to come off as totally ignorant (without meaning to) So, i Googled it.
Yep...i guess i am, according to Wikipedia. ^_____________^ I was baptized and i did my first communion and "le sacrement du pardon" (I have no clue what that is in English)...My European grandmother made me read the bible...Things like that. Never really followed or cared much for the religion. I have nothing against those who still practice though...

Lapsed is an interesting way of putting it, more than likely you are like the rest of us shunted and frozen like a deer in the headlights from Catholic guilt.

someone once said to me that lapsed catholics are the biggest religion in the world! it's an expression that i have only heard used in relation to catholics but that would be an ecumenical matter!
