There is no precedent - the first black president HAS to be a capable, successful leader. The problem is that in order to wield such power, the president must have political connections. Currently white politicians have much better connections, so they are easily elected.

Nothing. I know for a fact if Colin Powell had run in 2000 he most certainly would have been elected.
