Yes, I do. And it's a lot better than a B*$&@ slap. Which they'd get if they were right next to me.

So that's sort of a good thing.

It may be justified, but a nasty comment isn't very effective, usually.

Having a very calm, collected, and intelligent response will get you more support than someone who curses and insults the offender.

If you give a nasty comment back to the person who originally gave the nasty comment, you are lowering yourself to their level. Both of you will get heated up and have a pointless arguement. People around you will think, "wow, these two people are a bunch of idiots!"

If you give a thoughtful response, then you will surely put yourself above the other person. The person will not be able to reply with another stupid comment, or else they will REALLY look stupid. People around you will think, "Now there's a person with some common sense!"

I know your first reaction is to spit something nasty back into the offender's face, but remember - will it be worth it?

It's a sign of weakness. People that ask or answer here need to keep an open mind that not everyone is going to respond favorably, and of course there is an ignorant element and minority that like to pull another's chain.

Taking answers here or comments too seriously here shows a sign of some real thin skinned people whom are probably emotionally imbalanced.

To give an anonymous person so much ability to control someone's emotions and cause someone to be upset is pretty sad. It's like, don't go swimming if you don't want to get wet!

Don't ask or answer if you don't want to get insulted. It's a risk and chance we all take here. Only the strong survive!

How can you tell that the person who posed the question is insulting 'you'? It is read by thousands of people. Because it is general, just don't answer it if you feel it applies to your situation, as it may apply to a lot of people.

no , a nasty comment is also hurtful and two wrongs don't make it right. calmly tell this person that you were insulted by the answer and see where that takes you. if they really intended to be insulting let them be but don't stoop to their level.

No need to be nasty. Just speak the truth. If the truthful response to the insult is insulting, so be it.

Maybe, depending on the question and the answer. Some idiot left me an answer to a computer question. I couldn't get on my computer at home, was at work, and she said some crap about me making stuff up cause I was on the computer. I had to leave HER a comment in my details.

Some people. Geez.

If I can't justify with a nasty response, then I just report them for abuse.

Yeah, it's justifiable. As long as you don't say something really stupid like.. "YEAH, WELL YOUR MOM'S FAT"..because that's just lame.

Everyone says to just take the high road, but I think by doing that just makes it okay for people to insult one another...you gotta stand up for yourself!

sometimes i want to say something but i don't. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i've noticed most people here are either very young or very immature.
once i went back to my question 3 times because i wanted to comment on what someone said, but changed my mind each time.
