Although the usual practice is for a Catholic marriage to be celebrated is in a parish church, the bishop can give permission for the marriage to be celebrated in another suitable place.
With love in Christ.

You can still get married in the Catholic Church. You just can't have a high Mass. It will be a Catholic ceremony and blessed by the Priest. You both will still need to take the Pre-Cana classes. She can stay a Baptist and you can stay a Catholic. Call a Priest this afternoon and get all the details. I know lots of marriages with Catholics and Protestants. It's not as big a deal as it used to be.

Oh, I agree with Steiner... Almost. There are many hypocritical religions. I know about the Catholics and Baptists but let's not leave out the Mormons.

It doesn't matter where you get married, in the eyes of the law, you are married. The Catholic church may not recognize the marriage on some fronts, but if for some reason you were divorced along the way, trust me, the church suddenly recognizes that marriage...a true double standard at work here. Of course, you could get married twice..once in her church, then a quiet cerremony with a priest...wouldn't that solve everything? She would have to agree to raise the kids Catholic if you were to do that...is she prepared to do that?

Go to a justice of the peace. The catholic church won't recognize your marriage and the baptist won't to pleased either. The two most hypocritical religions you could get. Good luck.

Exactly what Marianne said, just talk to your priest to get all the details. Also most of the time, if not all, if you want to be married in the Catholic Church your spouse can stay out of it, but you both must agree to raise your children as Catholics.

outside as in outdoors? or outside of your religion?
many catholics can still marry in a church although their spouse is not baptized catholic. All it takes is an open minded pastor. Go to the church and ask if they will marry you, the worst they could say is no.
A priest can marry you outside of the church, in a garden, for ex.... a deacon has to be in a church. you can still have a religious ceremony outdoors, but a priest will always encourage you to wed in the house of the lord. The ultimate witness I guess

Go to a court house and have a judge perform the wedding ceremony. No one there will give you any hassles about religion.

Civil Union is what it is called when a Judge marries you off, not a church ceremony if you can settle for that. In that kind of ceremony religion doesn't matter.
