What are the different kinds of rocks that can be found in Hawaii and how can i identify them?

Igneous rock from volcanoes;they float if you put in water due to the trapped air that was there while it cooled and hardened.(pumice,basalt)
Sedimentary rock from the oral reefs breaking up and forming condensed layers of sandstone and limestone.They are fine grained and light in weight.
Metamorphic rocks fom the island and mountain building areas are heavy and coarse grained rock like marble.

I don't know the name of this rock but it can be found in lava tubes. Slag? It looks like glass and can be Meany colors. I have seen pictures of this rock Orange , Red ,and Yellow From Hawaiian Cavers

The entire Hawaiian island chain is made of basalt. Nearly every rock you find is basalt.

most of the rocks in Hawaii are formed basaltic magma so they are dark in color such as pumice, obsidian

Lava Rocks. They have a lot of holes in them.
