I will tell you the actual title when the question is resolved.

"In slumbered gasp a beach is born
In a waking moment dunes mortar’d flat
In a war of words hammering anvilles the mind
Grain of sand finds the eye, for an eye
In the dream tank
Sleeping Meshuggah awakes."

Seem to me like someone finding/creating a solace to deal with life's afflictions. Maybe even finding some understanding alone?

All I picked up from that is the fact that 'meshuggah' is 'crazy' in Yiddish.
And that just about covers exactly what I think about this poem!
I can just about work out "I wandered loney as a cloud" etc etc!
Sorry I'm not really into all that stuff, it's most likely some crazy pop group lyrics? And would need a great deal of coke sniffing before the 'truth' could be found!!!

I would interpret it as about someone sleeping and having a dream or maybe its a dog or a cat with the name Meshuggah. Good q but im not that good at poems.

Honestly, I don't get all the words in the poem but the images are very powerful and deep. And for me any poem which comes straight from the heart is a masterpiece as it is an expression of this world. "In a war of words", is actually a really good line. So I would think the poem is as good as the writer has seen it :-)

I'd say it's representative of a war on the beach in a sandy area. Or it could a couple on the beach having a blazing row and the large lady next to them wakes up really cross..............
