When it is completely dry, brush it with a stiff brush and vacuum up the big chunks. Use a carpet shampooer with a steam cleaning feature to get the stain out. If it is properly cleaned , the odor will go away. If the odor lingers more than a day, it isn't clean. Sorry it has to be you but I'm glad it isn't me. If you do this kind of entertaining often, you might want to invest in your own carpet cleaner instead of renting one.

Hi there. I am a professional carpet cleaner. Hoover up the dried chunks firstly. Whatever you do, do not shampoo your carpet. Shampoo leaves a dirt attracting residue in the carpet. Basically after a few months the area cleaned will resoil very quickly. My advise would be to look up Your local ChemDry operative and have them clean the carpet. They will also be able to kill the enzyme that is causing the smell. Best of luck

You poor thing! I would vaccuum up all you can. Then use a ggod carpet cleaner like Spot Shot, and use as directed. If you go to the pet store, they sell a great product (sorry I can't remember the name, but they'll know), that will remove any odor. It removes urine, throw-up, even skunk! It is an enzyme product that really works. Use that generously and keep blotting up with clean towels. It will remove stain and odor. Then-NO more parties!!!

Boil Water, (you will need that to loosen everything. add 1/2 cup of white vinegar(this will take the odor away) get a small scrubbing brush. When you have most of it off , Add 1teaspoon of a liquid soap to the mixture and scrub again. When you are finished take paper towel and blot up all the wetness, it might take a lot of paper towel. When it is done that place a dry piece of paper towel on top and your finished .
