The AL voted to implement the DH back in 1973, but the NL did not. It has been in effect ever since, but only in the American League.

The American League instituted the rule in an effort to increase offense, since that's what they believed fans wanted.
Personally, I like the rule, but I know I'm in the minority here.

You are demonstrably not clever enough to understand the reasons behind the DH rule, so let's not even bother, and you can give up the charade. Self-loathing is so spiritually corrosive.
