English Why? Because a modern language is one that has the most new words and influence in the world. This is English and is due to the United States being the economic and technology leader of the world. New words are added everyday with new inventions. PS I don't want to hear any nonsense about Chinese languages being first because there are more chinese. That means nothing because their languages are not important and influencial in the world.
