IRS sent me a letter including a form to sign and mail back that I failed to send. They stated that either my refund would be lowered if I didn't send back the signed form.
They also stated that this would of been prevented if I would of filed e-file while using turbo tax
Can I go back and e-file it , instead of the mail,, which will take 6-8 weeks again?
(college tuition is going to be due soon for my daughter! )

Only if it spells out how to do that in the letter they sent.

The answer will depend on what the IRS sent to you? Was it a form to verify a deduction or credit (such as the earned income tax credit)? You generally cannot efile after the tax filing deadline has passed. Luckily, you probably do not have to refile a tax return at all. More than likely, you just need to mail in whatever the IRS was asking for and that should do the trick.

No, once your return is into the system of being questioned or needing addition info or forms sent, it's too late to do anything other than what they tell you is needed.
