"...The chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied."
When I was little, I thought if I could only turn around fast enough, everything really looked like robots. I know exactly what you mean, though, and I've thought about it a lot. I don't think my brain is smart enough to just imagine all this new stuff I learn every day. When I read a book and try to imagine the people, I can't come up with a detailed visual to save my life, so I know that all these people I see around me can't be made up.
Try this one:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Or something like that.

Well man, the thing is I can give a direct answer to this question, but it is very unlikely you will give me the 10 points. I know what it is what you want me to say, but I'd rather tell you what I really think. No really, if I really wanted to, I would be getting those points; it is just that I want to be honest. The problem is not whether we exist at all, but you. You are not going all philosophical enough if you still have these sort of feelings. To ask something like this you really do not need to go through a degree or be all well up in philosophy at all. You might not believe this, but we know you very well, we know who you are. You are nobody, really, and if we should ever stop thinking you, you would simply disappear. The world you live in does exist (you can be certain of that): it did exist before you were born, and it'll still be in there once you have passed away. Yes, we do know who you are (we are just everyday people, the same people you interact with everyday at the supermarket, bank, etc.) but did not want to tell you about this because we did not want to disappoint you. Can you not see this? If you pay some more attention to what we are doing, you will probably realize we are all pretending every time you are around. I am not talking about God (he does not even know you exist at all), but us, humans: we did exist before you were born and we will still be there after you die. I know you do not want to hear about this but it is true mate. To summarize it all up, I'd say:
1. You do not exist (only we do)
2. God does not know anything about you
3. You think Matrix is a good movie (we think it is crap)

People do exist because you can touch them.Life is a dream also and you can float around ,but if you are crossing a road and theres a car coming , then thats not a dream.I know what you mean about everything being too perfect, too amazing to be real, but thats what real is.Sometimes the head rules the physical too much, and the record gets scratched.Do something physical, give your thoughts a rest .It helps me when Im feeling like you feel

Well, if you're right, aren't you better not knowing the truth? I used to think that about "reality". Your eyes are filled only with the fabricated reality that is emitted from them, like an Imax hologram. People are just entities, including your friends and family. It's all a big hoax and you're the only actual person left in existence and it's an alien's compassionate way of keeping you from accepting the horrible truth that all that's left of planet Earth is a big, black ball of winter ashes. Then I woke up and got a bowl of cornflakes.

I am a firm believer in the "It is what it is" theory.
If in fact what you say is true, then there is nothing you could do to change it anyway so then, by default, your job would be to make peace with it and try to be the best you could be at something, anything.
You should read the poem "A Dream Within A Dream" by Edgar Allen Poe
It is very moving and related to what you are asking.
Bottom line....Be at peace with whatever life hands you because there is at the very least a lesson in everything we go through. Find your lesson and move on to the next.

Any one who stays with in their own mind, nothing much makes sense. Go to www.philosphypages.com and read what all the great minds felt about those subjects. Then come to your own , where you are the must comfortable. Then get over it, life is way to short to ponder the whys. The earth is not too perfect and we humans need all the humans to agree things are fixable. Religion will be the death of the human race. Enjoy life.

Its amazing how many people have had similar thoughts. hey you could be right, it wouldn't be an impossibility but all I know is that in this life you will never get answers to those questions. In the meantime you may as well stop tripping and enjoy the ride.
You may also want to check out spiritualism as there's a sense in that to what your saying. It may put things in a certain context for you.
Good luck!

My advice is that this is the only reality you have...whether or not people around you really exist doesn't matter. Whether or not it's a dream shouldn't change the way you feel or act.
Just let it all go and live your life.

Do you know the story about a butterfly and a man?
The man says: "i fell asleep and i dreamed that i was i butterfly". The butterfly then asks him:"how can you be sure that you are not actually a butterfly that fell asleep and dreamed that it was a man?".
Whether you are the man or the butterfly the secret to happiness is to enjoy every single moment, whether it is a moment of dreaming or sleeping or living!!!
Everything around you that you can see, touch or feel does exists in your world. why care about anything else?
