What do I do to prevent this from continuing?

They are cleaning their nest so as to keep it clean of diseases. All birds do this though normally they drop them from the air. Your pool must be along their daily flight path and close enough to their nest they they have not already dropped them. It will stop shortly as the young will fledge soon and leave their nest. Try feeding the crows aaway from your pool or putting water (what I really feel they are coming for) a little ways from the deck. A large rubble snake set by the pool may scare them off from the deck to the other water source.

They want Corn and are trying to make a trade with you. Buy, some "Chops" at the Feed store and place on the ground away from everything. Then they should leave the droppings there.
