No. Love is a choice of whether or not you can love, and let love in by someone who cares for you.

We cannot help being attracted to people, desiring them, wanting to be near them because of this attraction. This however is not love, though many people mistakingly believe it to be so. It can definitely develop into love, but this is indeed where we make the decision to act upon our feelings of attraction for the other person.
True love is a decision to love that person, to commit to them, trust them and allow them into our world.
In everything we do we make decisions, we are not mindless creatures thrown from one situation to the next with no way of controlling our lives. To the contrary, in all we do we have to decide. What we wear, who our friends are, what occupation we want to pursue, whether to obey the laws or not, our sense of style and indeed, who we will love.
Yes it is a decision.

yes and no. I personally feel like you can't help who you are naturally drawn to and therefore develop feelings for, but love also depends on decisions - like whether or not to ask a person out or to forgive someone....if that makes any sense whatsoever. So, I guess love is sort of a decision but attraction is more or less out of our hands.

Love is a feeling. Happiness is a choice. You can choose to love as much as you can choose to NOT hate. The decision can simply be to stop and feel. When you get in touch with your feelings you will know how to label it. True Love is something that you will know when it happens. It connects in your soul on a level that you can not explain.

Yes. I decided to love someone whom I know will make me happy and make the people around me very miserable. It was my conscious decision to have that relationship and I am not regretting it despite the numerous obstacles that I know lie in wait for me, for us.

Very insightful.
Love as an emotion or an action is very much a choice that an individual makes. Those who don't believe that they have control over their emotions or states are generally less satisfied in life and prone to erratic outcomes.
The question can also be asked as "how do you make yourself love _____?"

I don't think so because sometimes you fall for people you know you shouldn't and similarly you can fall out of love with someone and wish you caould get the spark back. Either way, you can't control it. Imagine if we could though? People would never get anything done!

Depends really, I guess you choose to get to know someone better and fall in love over time. But the best form of love just happens when you least expect it.
