UK sites only does anyone know of a good email search to find out if someone has an email address with out asking them .

Ok so i`m not a stalker i just want to get in touch with a friend and her boyfriends a control freak. I havent seen her in a long time and i want to see if shes ok. i dont live where she is so i cant go round. And i cant ring as she is ex directory.

It used to be possible in the days of Compuserve, and I believe that AOL subscribers can still find others' addresses. In today's world, however, spam is a very real nuisance, and I for one wouldn't be best pleased if someone got my address without my permission (unless that someone is a 25-year-old brunette with brown eyes and long legs, of course).
So the answer is: you can't. Usually.

what do you want this e-mail address for in the first place,.... if it is for the right reasons thats ok... but if it is for the wrong reason thats not ok.... it is bad
now lets say it is for the wrong reason, and you started sending him/her e-mail they did not want to receive that would put you in whole lot of trouble.
when you send out e-mail it can be traced back to you... your computer puts it's little finger print ID on everything you do on the internet, so dose your internet service providers server, it confirms that you have been using that server to get on the internet,
so to prove what I am saying is right, goto your e-mail, pick out a friends e-mail that they sent to you, open it up, scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on full headers
read the full headers it will tell you who sent it their e-mail address their IP address, their ISP IP address, what server it passed through to get to you, the return address, time, date, and everything all the information is there,
so if it is for the wrong reasons you will be caught

Some people make their info public on sites like Yahoo. But I wouldn't count on it. Don't be a wimp - just call her already.
