I have a podcast show where I play music from various artists.. It's just on a website for people to download, I am not making any profit from it. Is it legal to play "copyrighted" music?

you or your streaming service provider are required to pay a performance royalty to ASCAP or BMI for the composer. The recording company gets 0.07 cents per person per play, with a $500 per year minimum collected by RIAA. This is currently under review by congress.
