Smooth - as adjective: not rough, as in smooth skin., a smooth ride (car, motorbike etc)
It has come to mean sophisticated, slick - a smooth talker, smooth dresser. Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal. hope this helps

Smooth can mean slick, cool (as in behavior not temperature!), easy.
Think of Sade's song "Smooth Operator".
