It is ok to help someone with their grammatical errors but is extremely rude to point out mistakes when not asked. I would say someone like this is very rude and offensive. I communicate with many people from around the world so I run across many mistakes in grammer but the main goal is communication and if this is acheived then the small errors are irrelevant.

I don't think much of them. I used to be top in my class for English and i got A's. Yet, my grammar sucks as.. Anything. I speak four languages, not an excuse, but probably the reason why my grammar is so bad. English isn't even one of the first languages i speak. I don't think much of them, i just think they are ignorant. If there was grammar check, then great, i would use it. Doesn't look like there is any over here anyways.

no no, they are affraid to make mistakes because they want not to be misunderstood...hence, they believe it is okay to control the language of others so long as they are teaching something they believe in greatly.
What some do not realize is that lots of people speak with ignorance and right to perfection. It is a matter of preference. If it is a matter of ignorance, well, nobody wants to be corrected in a casual conversation...if they wanted to learn better, they'd be reading or taking a class-sheesh

Those offended silly peoples were able
to learn only 1 language in their entire lifetime,
and r using only it.
If others r able to understand the meaning then it should be considered as.... all right.
An act of Debating is a different affair.

I am one of those who is irritated by grammatical/spelling errors. I am by no means perfect, but the lovely people at Y! provide us with a Spell Check, why not make use of it? And it won't kill you to proof read your answers/questions.

No but if you make grammatical mistakes and English is your native language, be wary of criticizing others. If you do, they can use your weaknesses to get back at you.

Ya its one of the reasons and the other main reason is related to thier EGO.. Guess it hurts their ego when corrected.
One more reason depends on the time when someone is correcting you. When you are in a very important conversation and your flow is broken by someone correcting you on your grammer ppl do get offended
Cheers!!
