One exam question could be:

George and Lennie take very different approaches to drinking the water. What does each man's approach say about his character?

George's mood changes throughout the extract. Show HOW Steinbeck presents this, and suggest why it is so.

Well that's a few i got. I can give you more if you like. But you do have to know the effects Steinbeck used and what the animal imagery in the novel is used for. If you know the effects and if you know why Steinbeck finished the novel this way, then you are on the way for a good grade. But the best thing is by knowing the novel and some of it inside out and try to understand some dramatic effects used in there. Know the theme's and know why the American Dream failed and what it presents. Need help, just email me.

Good luck on your exams.

The main questions asked about of mice and men can be anything ranging from the characters to the use of language and types of devices used in the novel.

A typical question would be:
How does Steinbeck present the relationship between Lennie and George?

In a question like this u need to plan the intro... background to the wall street crash in 1929 and then contrast the relationships of George and Lennie to other characters preferably Curley and Curley's wife.

I hope this helped!!!
Good Luck!!!

Some questions I've came across.

- What is the theme of mice and men? Answer: The American Dream, lonliness, dreams in particular.

- What does the death of (forget his name)'s dog symbolize? It foreshadows the death of Lennie

There are many simmilar questions like those, what does this and that memorize, you get the gist.
