I think it's very cute, but actually sometimes it's a necessity. I have an Italian Greyhound and she is very small, has NO fat on her and has very short fur. She cannot go outside when it's under 70 degress without shivering almost to the point where it looks like she's convulsing. Very sad :( I try not to take her outside when it's cold (she's wee wee pad trained) but sometimes I have to if I need to take her to the vet or to my parents' house.

lmao. People that do stuff like that are morons. Get real, animals have FUR for a REASON. A dog doesn't need a sweater. A dog doesn't need boots. A cat definitely don't need a sweater or anything else. Clothing is for humans, not for pets.
There was some dipstick that asked a question about where they could find PET strollers. I didn't even know what to think about that, all I could do was laugh and think wtf? Some people are just idiotic.
Like the person above me. How do you know your dog LOVES getting dressed up? Does the dog talk and tell you? Maybe her "prancing" is your dogs way of trying to get the clothing off. Hmmmm.
I'll get **** for this answer, but eh..oh well I suppose.

I have to dress my Chi because he is fragile and chills very easy. As far as putting my dogs in Halloween outfits and parading them around the neighborhood..um no I am not going to do that! I feel that is outrageously silly and a great waste of money since most dogs, unless it's done to them from birth, will not keep it on long enough to get a picture. Dogs should be comfortable in every situation and if a sweater makes them warmer great but dressing up like a pumpkin in Oct uh...no!

I don't dress my animals, because when they do they get sad and uncomfortable. it mostly differs on the animal, the person, and what their dressing it in. Most of the time I say it's wrong.

I think people who dress animals are transferring. They want their pets to be human little things, they don't respect them as animals, animals would not dress themselves that way. It's thorugh pure Pavlovian stimulus-response that animals learn that it pleases humans to tolerate it. If it's for cold, there is a REAL function, at least, but most dressers take it too far.
Just my opinion.

They need to get a life...
Unless you are talking about sweaters or weather protection for an indoor animal... when taken outside. Then it probably makes the animal more comfortable in cold or inclement weathers

If it's a simple sweater in the winter or little boots in the rain (dogs have gotten shocked from frayed wires under manhole covers) it's fine. But anything else like an actual outfit is ridiculous.

I think it is unecessary because they are spending money on "designer" clothes for their pets and they(pets) may not even like wearing them. Only the rich bother to do so because we ordinary people only have enough to get by.
