Actually , they do . Sheep grow to the size of a big horse after birth ......... some even larger . When they`re out in the rain , they shrink a bit at a time , until they`re shrunk out at about the size of a large dog .

If your wool sweater has shrunk during a wash , it means the wool was taken from a sheep that was not yet "shrunk out" , or still had a bit of shrinking to go .

Wool shrinks because it was stretched,and chemically treated before making it into clothing,but the wool on sheep is still natural.

the wool doesn't shrink when you put it in the WASHER--it shrinks in the DRYER! If you put your sheep in the dryer after the rain, their manes might shrink a bit... =)
