I don't know of anyone who found it easy, but if you enjoy what you are doing, the many hours spent reading are worth it. There are many types of lawyers out there, and each requires a different set of skills. While most people think of the litigator, who generally needs to be aggressive to succeed in an adversarial system, most lawyers actually do transactional work, which is to say that they work on things like contracts and wills, and they need to be detailed and thorough to make sure that all the specifics have been considered.
