liberals are followers, always desperate for a cause to talk down to others about. it doesn't really matter what it is, or if it makes any sense.

Wow. Do you know how to spell prejudice? Liberals aren't the only ones with dietary interests.

Many religious groups follow certain restrictions. Jews, for example, have for millennia had a Biblical prohibition against pork because before refrigeration pork could harbor deadly salmonella or other killers. Even today pork needs more careful and thorough cooking than most other meats. Potato chips and chocolate also contain unhealthy fats, but your friend apparently doesn't feel endangered by the amount of those he eats.

As long as they get enough protein from vegetable sources..nuts, etc...vegetarians know they can be safer from cholesterol, heart problems, etc. And vegans can be even stricter. Also, many vegetarians and vegans don't believe in killing animals for food. If they smoke, they apparently prefer to choose their own poison.

Hey...how about food habits among the conservatives you seem to prefer?

For one thing liberals generally know how to spell potato. Secondly, human beings are not perfect and, while it seems weird that one doesn't eat meat but smokes. Did you ask the vegan why they don't eat meat? Perhaps health has nothing to do with it. By the way I don't think it matters if one is a liberal or conservative. To even try and provoke people blaming such things on one side or the other is ridiculous.

Just because someone has a diet preference doesn't make them a liberal. Lets looks at your statement. A) vegan that smokes is hurting himself not animals. B) Some people don't eat pork because of religious reasons. Considering that this even bothers you I would think you are a up tight neocon that can't allow others to freely think or act as they wish. Keep thinking that because as a liberal its my choice to defend your free speech and your ignorance. My suggestion is don't judge people because they are different than you. Thank you for writing and proving how stupid neocons truly are.

Not only Liberals are concerned about a healthy diet. Not all nutritionists, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Jains, Buddhist, Sikhs and Mormons are liberals. Consider how many people all over the world would see your diet as "weird".

Well i'm not entirely sure what's so weird about their diets. I mean if they want to eat that way, we should let them right? It's not exactly nice for us to condone their eating habits right back when they condone ours, two wrongs don't make a right I suppose.

Dick Cheney is a vegetarian because of all of his heart problems.

It's not about being a liberal, it's just a personal choice, no politics at all.

I went vegetarian for 1 year- no politics, just got sick of the thuds of my heart.
