It is a $9.25 credit card transaction, and it is the only one of this month.

I couldn't find a way to accept his payments with my personal account...so I upgraded and they took a ridiculous amount (10%) of that transaction.
So I downgraded my account, and I'm wondering how can I accept credit card payments in the future without needing to upgrade?

You can't.

Paypal to paypal transactions via a paypal account or from their bank account is free in most cases, but they will always take a cut out of a credit card transaction.

Because they're trying to make a profit, and also Visa charges fees as well.

I don't think you can. I didn't think it was 10 %, maybe .95 cents is a minimum for a transaction. Get people to pay you from their bank account instead of credit card account. You can do this through Paypal, but they will have to add the bank account to their Paypal account.

What the heck are you talking about? You can receive payments on a personal account, and it's free. If they wanted to pay by debit or credit card, it would be 4.9% plus 30 cents. If you upgrade, it's only 3% plus 30 cents. I suppose if your item only cost $3.00, that could result in a 10% fee, but you're supposed to build the fees into your price. Do you want them to give you all their services for free?

As far as I know you are screwed. I found that as an ebay seller, you are stuck going to a premier account and get hammered by the stupid fees. You just have to add 20% to everything you sell (10% for the ebay fees and 10% for the paypal charges). Until they have a competitor, we are screwed.
