Can someone please tell me at what point you are suppose to stop wearing underwired bra's?

I am large busted anyway, so the underwire gives additional support - I'm just not sure when I should be changing?

Thanks x

If you're above a B-cup then you really need the support of underwiring. Best of all was the BioForm bra, which wasn't wired but rather had two different types of polymer and offered a lot more support than underwired bras ...and didn't make you all hot and uncomfortable in the summer, either. Sadly, these seem to have gone out of production and not been replaced with anything equally as good, so I'm trying to make sure my last half dozen don't fall apart.

Well, Hopefully this will help....I was a 32D before pregnancy and I wore an underwire bra that I loved, but now that I'm 21 weeks and have grown to be a 34DD underwire is extremely uncomfortable to me. I think its more of a choice to stop wearing them. I would recommend a great sports bra or no underwire. I swear by the sports bras though. They give the support you need and are very comfortable. Good Luck!

as long as you are wearing the right size, a good supportive underwire is the best thing to wear. go into a local dept staor and get fitted for a bra a few times throughout your pregnancy to make sure you are in the correct size (its free) I was a DD pre pregnancy...underwire is a MUST. if fitted correctly the wire rests just on your ribcage underneath the bust and wont cause any problems as far as milk ducts etc. I wear a good underwire during the day and a sports bra at night. Good Luck!

Underwired bras are excellent IF you are large enough to need one. DO NOT put an underwire bra through the drier. Hang them up to dry. They are more expensive and you want them to last. The drier can cause the wire to bend and eventually break. Once the wire breaks you have to throw the bra out. At 14 you do NOT need a padded bra. Whether or not you need an underwire depends upon your size.

You really don't need to stop. They even make maternity bras with underwire.

Some women experience clogged ducts from the pressure of the under-wire that can turn into mastitis (a breast infection). I don't think you need to worry about it until after you have the baby and your milk comes in. Then, watch for hard spots that can be red and hot. Below is a link about mastitis if you are interested in reading more.

Some women wear them all the time (during the day) Wear whatever you feel gives you the support you need and is the most comfortable to you.

Why would you NEED to stop using underwire?

I didn't stop with the 1st one. And I'm still wearing them at 22 weeks, and planning to all the way through again.

I am a guy, but, my wife has some nice melons. When she was pregnant she found the "Sports Bras" to work well for her.
I guess it falls down to comfort. As long as your comfortable, wear what works best for you.
