Thomas Edison has always been a hero of mine. He had a pretty informal style. He hated the fact that science always sought to make itself more complicated through antiquated terminologies and confusing notations. Science should be described in as simple of terms as possible because, when it comes down to it, the real value of science is its ability to be transmited to other people for the benefit of everybody and for the benefit of posterity. Sure, he had that whole light bulb thing going for him, but let's not forget that he developed the first central power station and the movie projector. Bell's phone was almost worthless without Edison's carbon microphone. He has 1093 patents to his name.
