I know what you are talking about love as I too have had hairy legs my whole adult life.
Shaving in the morning but by afternoon spikey already, dark and bristly?
What I did that changed everything was I started waxing instead of shaving. I let them grow nice and long, then yank them out with wax.
Hurts at first but after one year of waxing my hairs grow back less and less , becoming lighter, finer and thinner.
It's the best thing I ever did.
I wax my legs now it lasts for three months, practically hair free.
You can also have laser treatment for full removal of hair.

People say if you get them waxed it doesn't grow back for 4 weeks or so. I've never done my legs but I did my arms and after 4 days I felt stubble. The hair was too short to go and have it waxed again so I just waited. I also got quite a few in grown hairs from the waxing. I was going to do my legs but after that I just continue to shave, its alot cheaper and it feels so nice right after you do it.

You can try clipping some of the hairs on your legs (I do this myself from time to time) but it is true that the more you shave the hairs can grow faster (and in this case I'm talking about by weeks).
I would also recommend talking to your dr about this to have the situation evaluated to see if maybe a hormone imbalance could be playing in to how fast the hair is growing back in.

Isn't it fun!? I think Nair burns. I think Veet doesn't work very well. I have tried home waxes that are okay.... one that tore off skin.
So.. what to do? I bought some good facial hair remover and used it on my legs. It was highly effective and didn't burn at all! A little more expensive because you will probably have to buy two instead of one... but far cheaper than many other solutions.

"The more you shave the worse it gets...".
Not true, It just appears worse because you shave the hair blunt!
The other options on here are fine, waxing if you can stand the pain (I can so this is what I do) or hair removal cream if you can stand the smell!
You did not say which part of your body it is. If its a small area (top lip for example) then look into permenant removal such as electrolosis (sp?) and laser hair removal.
Good luck.

After trying different hair removal products with little success for years, I just simply gave up. Go all natural. I use a lotion that makes the hair thinner and less noticeable, so I can get away with not shaving.

Get a cream that when applied to your legs it haves the hair comes out at the root and takes longer for the hair to grow back.

If you actually stopped shaving for two weeks, the follicles that spawn hair growth would subside..
By continually shaving you irritae them into growing and the circle continues.
Simply wear jeans or coloured stocking for the two weeks and I guarentee that you will then decrease the amount of times that you will need to shave.

Use a hair removal kit. Do not use nair (as a person before me said) It burns like no freakin tomorrow. Try using Nads it works pretty good...you can't really prevent leg hair growth, it's just part of being woman :)

Well, that's the problem, the more you keep on shaving the faster the hair will come back...
When you first started did you shave everyday? Well, you shouldn't have cuz the hair will come....mu ja ja ja! lol, jk! Try that Shavin thing they alwayz announce on Radio Now. Sounds like it would work, but it costs $$, and if you really want to stop shavin then it's worth spendin the $$ on hair removal....take care! ;)
