Since bush was appointed to the office of president by the crookedest supreme court ever, the country has been headed towards theocracy, that's for sure, but don't worry.
Now that the Democrats are in control things will change for the better.

Not it isn't clear - the last two Presidential elections were decided by the Religious Right - and in any event, it's not always the statistical probability that frightens, so much as the size of the catastrophe if a certain event occurs. You do not seem to understand how frightening Xianity is to the rest of us - its followers are typically found among the least educated, least rational, and most dogmatic citizens. We have encouraged "diversity" for so long in this country, yet history has shown that the Xians would subject the rest of us to their edicts without a second thought. This is not just about their famed intolerance, either. Most of their doctrines evolved in a time when the Church was striving for equal status with the monarchs of Europe - doctrines that keep the people down while directing money and power into the hands of clerics. It's a bloodstained, stupid tradition that non-Xians rightly fear.

The federal government has been given way, way too much power. If the president is sworn to uphold the Constitution, a theocracy should never happen. If a president should try to push for a theocracy, he should be impeached. It is unconstitutional for the federal government to create or support a national religion.
We have never been a democracy. We are a republic, ruled by laws that uphold the rights of the individual.

First, the United States of America is a republic form of government, not a democracy.
Secondly, the first amendment would actually be correctly used for the first time in a long time (maybe ever) and make any theocracy unconstitutional.
Lastly, your liberal judgmental bigoted remarks are most disturbing, I bet you wish everyone just thought like you, oh wait, that is what you are accusing the other side of doing. Go Figure!

We are not a democracy, we are a Republic. You may have once even pledged allegiance to it, and not to a democracy. Democracy is a form of government, and a good one. It is so dangerous that religious zealots, like the radical element of Islam, will do anything to prevent it taking hold. The US has nothing to fear from being a "theocracy."

The US will never be a theocracy. There is no single religion here. If we did, we'd have the same problems that are in Iraq.
People are killing and dying for reasons that can't be proven.

We are not heading for a theocracy unless of course we cave to Muslim terrorism and yes than we will have a theoracy.
So please stop being such faithaphobic just because someone has religous beliefs.
