to wise up and appreciate what he has before somebody else who does sweeps me off my feet. Do you think he's gonna care when it actually happens?

oh yeah. I've been through this and you can believe he will care, only after it happens. my advice is don't let anyone sweep you off your feet. just move out for a little while. he'll realize he cant live without you. things will work out!

If you have to KEEP telling him to wise up then he probably isn't going to care if someone else comes along.
