Its taking forver to load and sound is distorted often. It can't do much anymore on it without having trouble. Spyware programs aren't picking up anything. CPU usage usually is running about 9% for whatever reason. I was loading an online game the other day and it took about 10 minutes but played fine. Even when I play a song on windows media player it started acting up. Any help please!

NOT the processor but perhaps the HDD. If you have Everest, click on Storage then Smart. Look for any abnormal indication in the status column.

First of all, you have provided a limited amout of information here.

1. If it takes awhile to load the OS, then you have too many programs opening at the startup phase. I would think seriously about shutting down the ones you do not need.

2. Have you defragged your hard drive? That would be a prime reason for a slowdown.

3. Have you intercepted a virus? Run your antivirus software to check to see if you have a boot sector virus. Your spyware and antivirus software are two different entities. If you have not picked up on spyware, that doesnt mean you may have a virus.

4. If thse steps do not uncover any problems, I would suggest taking in to a computer shop and have them check your internal motherboard and power supply.

you either have a virus you cant find or it could also be a sign your hard drive is starting to go, check you c gig space make sure it isn't full, also check al your cables in pc to floppy hard drive and cd roms if they are even a bit loose this can also cause these problems, a cable can even be bad etc..
