After high-definition TV, it's hard to go to a movie theatre and watch a blurry projection image. So are movie theatres going to go high-definition anytime soon?

good question. i'll be happy to see it too.

at a theater here in chicago, there was a trailer about an upcoming event. there is going to be a live opera shown in HD in theaters soon. i'm not a fan of opera, but i'm almost tempted to go just to see what it looks like. http://www.fathomevents.com/details.aspx?eventid=643

i was even surprised at the difference between the digital presentation on Spiderman 3 as opposed to the regular.

expect a few years, the machine for digital movie projection already exists, but the theaters aren't yet ready, since switching to the digital projectors are expensive.
